Inspiring talks

An edcamp is a participant driven event. You call the shots. You choose the sessions that fit your needs.

We are happy to offer a chance to learn with special guest and participant Damian Cooper!

Damian Cooper is an independent education consultant who specializes in helping schools and school districts improve their instructional and assessment skills. In his varied career, Damian has been a secondary English, Special Education, and Drama teacher, a department head, a librarian, a school consultant and a curriculum developer. He has specialized in student assessment since 1986. Damian served as assessment consultant to the School Division of Nelson Education where he worked on the development of assessment principles and strategies for a wide variety of K-12 resources. Prior to that appointment he was Coordinator of Assessment and Evaluation for the Halton District School Board in Burlington, Ontario.

What is EdcampSWO?

Edcamp is a form of unconference designed specifically for teachers and their needs. Unlike traditional conferences which have schedules set months in advance by the people running the conference, Edcamp has an agenda that's created by the participants at the start of the event.

Edcamp sessions involve discussions around technology integration, pedagogy, assessment, evaluation and education in general.

This year we anticipate having converations about Coding, Minecraft, Office365, Google for Classrooms, Twitter, MakerSpaces, Vine, Green Screen, The Global Read Aloud, Explain Everything, iPads in the Classroom, Mystery Skype, Daily Physical Activity, Developing Technology Leaders and much more!

What are you curious about? What will you learn? What will you share? Who will you collaborate with? Join teachers, admin, ITprofessionals, parents and students as they all participate as learners.

Come and join the discussion on April 29!
